At Zest Dental, we use the aid of digital x-rays to diagnose necessary treatment and detect early decay. Digital x-rays are a form of x-ray imaging where sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film, and offer many advantages to enhance and improve your dental care.
We’re very excited to share those benefits with our patients. Firstly, digital x-rays reduce your exposure to radiation by up to 80 per cent. Secondly, there is no chemical processing of the x-rays, eliminating the inconvenience and environmental impact associated with the disposal of conventional film developers. Lastly, digital x-rays are immediately available to view, and our patients will be able to see the results instantaneously on our computer monitor.
Welcome to the world of digital technology.
Here at Zest Dental, we are lucky enough to have the aid of an on-site OPG machine to help look for tooth fractures, infection and most commonly to see whether wisdom teeth are present, and if they need to be removed.
An OPG is a panoramic x-ray of the upper and lower jaws, including the teeth. The OPG unit rotates around your head during the scan and only takes about 20 seconds. It is painless, fast and easy and leaves no radiation in your body afterwards.
The results are immediately available to view on our computer monitor and any questions you have can be answered straight away.
On your next visit, ask whether an OPG is suitable for you!!
At Zest Dental, we strive to give our patients the most up to date dental technology, which in turn improves the standard of your dental care. One of our most effective tools to communicate and educate our patients is the aid of an intraoral camera.
Essentially it is a tiny digital camera that enables us to capture images of difficult-to-reach areas in the mouth. The camera looks like a writing pen that allows us to see detailed images of teeth surfaces, gum conditions, cavities, hairline fractures and plaque. It also is a fantastic way to show before and after treatment images.
There is no pain or discomfort, and the clear video and images it provides, gives both the dentist and the patient great insight and understanding of their mouth. Any potential problems detected can be discussed straight away and a proposed treatment plan put in place to get your dental health back to an optimal level.
On your next visit, ask for an intraoral tour of your mouth!!
At Zest Dental, we have been straightening teeth for over 20 years and are extremely excited to offer The Invisalign System to our patients.
Invisalign is a great alternative to traditional braces and is the most advanced clear aligner system in the world. Its innovative technology has excellent results in effectively straightening your teeth.
Invisalign aligners are removable custom made retainers which are virtually invisible. Each set of aligners are changed every 1-2 weeks compared to 3-4 weeks with braces, making it an ideal solution for people with very busy schedules. As you wear each set of retainers, your teeth gently and gradually shift into place with minimal discomfort, resulting in a smile you’ll love.

Computer guided keyhole implant treatment
Here at Zest dental, we offer our patients the opportunity to replace their missing teeth using the latest technology in guided keyhole implant treatment.
The process for replacing your missing teeth can begin today with a 3D diagnostic scan. Using this scan together with an impression of your mouth, computer guided technology is used to determine the best plan for placing your dental implants through a 3D printed keyhole template.
Once we have completed the keyhole surgical placement of your implants, we attach the crown on top of the implant to produce a tooth like outcome. So your implant mimics the function of your tooth root and the crown mimics the look and function of your tooth.
This procedure is minimally invasive to our patients so you can get back to enjoying life and work. So book a consultation today to see if you are a suitable candidate for this superior implant treatment!!
